The Health & Counseling Center has a new name

By Jamy Dahle, LCSW, Mental Health Counselor/Outreach Coordinator

The Health & Counseling Center has some exciting news!

Thanks to a series of donations, led by Dr. Craig L Booth, the DSU Health & Counseling Center is now expanding. As a part of this expansion, and in honor of his generous gift, the Health & Counseling Center is being renamed: Booth Wellness Center. The Booth Wellness Center will house three new therapy offices, a large group therapy room which will include a family therapy and play therapy area, and an additional therapy and/or conference room. This expansion will double our center in size!

To kick off our new name, we’re going to jump right in with our annual Wellness Fair on October 2 from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on the Kenneth N. Gardner Student Center Plaza. Don’t miss our bi-weekly Wellness Workshop as well in the Gardner Living Room from 12-1:00 p.m. with free dessert – come learn about healthy ways to connect with other without a screen.

This day brings a great opportunity for students, staff and faculty to connect with the wellness services not only on campus but also in our community. This is an interactive event we encourage all to attend. Come relax with a massage, get a henna tattoo, find a dentist, join a bank, connect to campus services, pick up your free Booth Wellness Center t-shirt, and much more! There will also be music, raffles, food trucks, interactive games, and a free photo booth to celebrate our new name.
