No objections to free, on-campus legal clinic for Dixie State University students

By Abby Jones, UMAC Intern

As students, the legal world can be incredibly intimidating to navigate. Between the complicated jargon, the time-consuming process, and the pressed suits, it is easy to get overwhelmed. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to altogether avoid lawyers while completing your college career.

Don’t fret; Dixie State University is here to help. In fact, Dixie State is now offering a completely free on-campus resource: the DSU Legal Clinic.

Through a partnership with the Southern Utah Bar Association, attorneys will come to campus and provide free legal advice to Dixie State students on an array of topics. Starting tomorrow, Sept. 9, students can receive one-on-one instruction on legal topics including:

  • Family
  • Housing
  • Dating Violence
  • Domestic Violence
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Social Security
  • Bankruptcy
  • Identity Theft
  • Estate Plans
  • And more!

Whether you need a helping hand to navigate you through the law or just have a question about credit reports , these DSU partners are here to help. And you don’t even have to leave campus!

Students can attend these free meetings in the Kenneth N. Gardner Student Center room 204 on the second Wednesday of each month from 5-7 p.m. For more information or to request an appointment, visit blazerlink.dixie.edu/organization/legalclinic.
